The Central Park Tower on Billionaires’ Row has just been named the world’s tallest residential tower, surpassing NYC’s loftiest residential building at 432 Park Ave by 154 feet.
The tower, located at 217 W. 57th St., holds 179 two- to eight- bedroom apartments beginning from the 32nd floor. The apartments, designed by architecture firm Rottet Studio, are priced at US$6.9 million and up.
Standing 1,550 feet high with 131 stories, the building’s highest-priced unit now available for purchase is a five-bedroom apartment situated on the 112th floor, which currently boasts a staggering cost of US$63 million.
Gary Barnett, president of the tower’s developer Extell, tells the New York Post, “There are spectacular views of Central Park everyone covets and wants.”
Luckily for residents of Central Park Tower, “Nobody is blocking our views… [which] are truly epic,” he adds.
Panoramic views span from the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, Hudson Yards to the south, the Hudson River, George Washington Bridge and New Jersey to the west, and LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy airports to the east.
The tower will feature “one of the world’s most exclusive private clubs,” according to Extell, as well as New York City’s first-ever Nordstrom store, which will open its doors on 24 October 2019.
