This little-known hack can change the way you travel.
A mother-of-two has shared how a US$200 upgrade allowed her children to sleep comfortably onboard a long-haul flight. Adele Barbado and her family flew via Air New Zealand to Los Angeles, and paid an extra amount for her family to sleep comfortably on a ‘Skycouch’.
The ‘Skycouch’ offers more leg space for economy-class passengers, but the option won’t burn a hole in your pocket like getting a business class seat might. It basically transforms “a row of Economy seats” into a couch, Barbado shares on Facebook.
The mother explains that if you have purchased two adjacent seats, you will just have to pay for a third “at half price” to get the whole row. The deal even comes with elevated leg rests to create a “flat, large play or sleep area.”
Barbado details that the option is “the next best thing to business [class]” and “perfect for long haul flights.” The ‘Skycouch’ is available on Air New Zealand’s long-haul Boeing 777 and 787-9 flights.
