‘Friends’ Is Pivoting To The Big Screen To Celebrate Its 25th Anniversary

The world is feverishly celebrating 25 years since it was blessed with hit sitcom Friends. Pottery Barn, for one, has unleashed a furniture collection despite what ‘Phoebe Buffay’ thinks, and a popup recreating the show’s sets will open in the coming months.

You can now pay homage to the evergreen series in the way fans know best: by rewatching the episodes, albeit in a new setting. Friends is arriving in 1,000 theaters across the US with remastered episodes and rarely-seen content.

On 23 September, 28 September and 2 October, the cinemas will air four episodes per night, reaching a total of 12. If you thought things could not BE any better, get this: the episodes will be screened in a new 4K view, as opposed to the original 35mm camera negative.

The birthday special is aptly titled Friends 25th: The One With The Anniversary, and will also include exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage. There’s finally something from the show you haven’t watched.

Tickets can be purchased here beginning 16 August. Read on for a rundown of the episode lineup.
