Apple is opening its fifth and largest store in Japan on Saturday, 7 September in Tokyo’s Marunouchi business district, and has shared some awe-inspiring pictures for a sneak peek.
Facing the historic Tokyo Station, the new Apple Store features a futuristic yet serene façade, curtained by native bamboo.
Its exterior entails aluminum vitrine windows specially cast to create three-dimensional rounded corners, perhaps reminiscent of the shape of Apple’s iPhones.
Bamboo situated outside the outlet’s windows allow shoppers to enjoy Marunouchi’s vibrant street scene from the inside, and a double-height atrium connecting the store’s two levels will now be the holding place for Tokyo’s ‘Today at Apple’ sessions.
Apple Store Marunouchi’s employees speak a total of 15 languages, so visitors from around the globe can feel at ease at this peaceful location. Check out first images of the new Apple Store below.
